A new set of template rules were announced in March 2016 from the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission outlining a set of steps which help small unincorporated charities manage their registration and governance.
Often charities and NFP's run by volunteers and with limited assets struggle to provide the correct documents to establish a charity registration and these new rules provide an effective starting point for organisations and allow them to set firm procedures in place for good governance.
Features of the new set of templates include:
Developed in consultation with the sector
Easy to use and meets ACNC and legal requirements
Small organisations can access simple-to-understand rules
Ease burden on small charities
Free of charge and easily accessible online
Saves time and streamlines application processes
The new set of rules aims to make the overall registration and governance simpler and ease the burden on charities and so far the new rules have been well received by the Australian charity sector.
